Don't forget to factor in VAT. The US price doesn't include sales taxes.

Subtracting 17% gives US$ equivalent prices of:

apple.com/uk price $794 - $1139

Still a somewhat hefty markup.

UK price includes VAT at 17.5%, while US prices are without sales tax.
So like for like,

apple.com price $700 - $1000
apple.com/uk price 552 - 790 ($814 - $1165)

Still usurious! Bastards.

You really need to get that chip off your shoulder. Apple *do* still
make Macs, you know. Maybe this update will be, who knows, a Mac mini or
something, which would be ironic, don't you think?

I think they dipped under 400 for a while (399) but I don't think they've
been as low as 299. Could be wrong though, I don't follow the Mini that
closely.
