High Input Impedance Single Supply Amp ?
I need to make a high input impedance amplifier for a mic preamp with a single supply. I was thinking of using a TL071 (non-inverting) opamp with high resistance bias resistors (to bias the opamp to half the supply voltage) so the input impedance results is aprox. 1MegOhm. But I don't know if such a scheme would w... 16 Jun 2010 02:22

Ferrite Inductor Tolerance
When winding modest inductors of a few hundred milliHenries on a ferrite core, given Al and a number of turns, what is the typical tolerance on the actual value of inductance when these are made in quantity? Cheers Ian ... 16 Jun 2010 16:36

RS485 trouble
I have worked allot with RS232, and other serial protocols, but this is my first RS485 project. It seemed straight forward to me, but now I have a big problem. I am using the max490 chip. I'm doing full duplex, 4 wire. Each of my nodes have the max490 communicating with a 16F877A pic chip. The whole project ... 15 Jun 2010 08:42

ferrite machining?
Does anyone know of ferrrite can be turned on a lathe? I have a short 1" long by 1" dia. rod ( i know, i know, a personal problem) and I would like to have a grove machined into it to accept a few turns of wire. there will then be a bobbin slipped over that with the secondary on it. I suppose this might be don... 18 Jun 2010 05:53
