[?] Would like to decode and display V22bis data (2400baud)
Hi, I have some high-quality DAT recordings of a V22bis (2400 baud) data exchange between a modem and a computer, which were made by recording across the telephone line via a suitable interface. I'd like to be able to decode, display and analyse the data in these recordings, preferably using hardwar... 8 Jun 2010 12:35
New (low-traffic) electronics list
Some of the old timers here may remember the old 4QD-TEC mailing list. For various reasons, this never worked well. I have re-started the list from a different server, with different rules. You will be able to send html attachments and top posting is discouraged: in other words - usenet posting rules, so it wil... 8 Jun 2010 08:03
CCt to converter 24Vdc signals to 12Vdc signals
Hi All, I'd like to convert LOGIC (0,1) 24Vdc signals, <100mA, < 2kHz to 12Vdc signals. Low power consumtion is not required. 24V and 12V sources availabe What can you suggest. I was thinking the following primative ideas a) Series resistor with 12V Zener shunt b) 24V -- series resistor in to... 8 Jun 2010 08:03

Skybuck's Universal Code Version 6 (The Fast Version)
Hello, It is time to make the world acquinted with Skybuck's Universal Code 6 (The Fast Version). Today's computers/instructions/instruction sets don't really work with "interleaved bits". They work more with "consecutive bits". Therefore it is time to update Skybuck's Universal Code Concept with versio... 8 Jun 2010 00:24
ECL: Why'd they use negative voltages?
I realize it was the early '60s and all, but why does ECL generally use 0V for VCC and -5.2V for VEE, rather than, oh, say... 5V for VCC and 0V for VEE? Something related to how things were done when toobs ruled? (I realize that you can almost always run ECL off of 5V/0V -- and apparently this was popular prac... 9 Jun 2010 11:58
SPDIF to TTL
There are a number of circuits on the Net to do this. For example: http://sound.westhost.com/project85.htm In Fig 5 should that IC be a 74HC04 as stated, or 74HCU04? -- Dirk http://www.transcendence.me.uk/ - Transcendence UK http://www.blogtalkradio.com/onetribe - Occult Talk Show ... 8 Jun 2010 17:13
Linear Systems LSK389, with its 0.9nV spec

Mount SSOP24 on TSSOP24 footprint?
I'm designing an LED display. I'm using the TLC5926IPWP which is basically a TSSOP24 type package (0.65mm pitch), I need this due to the thermal pad. However, the SSOP24 (0.635mm pitch) version TLC5926IDBQ is available ex stock. It looks like I might be able to fit the SSOP24 version onto the TSSOP24 pads, at l... 8 Jun 2010 06:56
A question on PCB manufacturing
Thank you everybody. I have a question on PCB manufacturing. I have designed an eight layer board (Top Signal | Power Plane | Gnd | Mid1 Signal | Gnd | Mid 2 signal | Gnd | Bottom Signal). I have some problems with the PCB board. There are five BGA chips on it that according to their montage profile the temperatur... 10 Jun 2010 21:16
