Noise on power supply net
Hi All, Ok, more on the dreaded color reader problems... ;-) Now that I have the scope, been troubleshooting this thing a bit. One thing I am seeing is that there is a lot of noise on my power net. While the chip's specs say it should have a ripple of around 40mVs, I am also seeing a noise signal around every 1... 6 Jun 2010 18:17

670 GHz amplifier chip, 11dB at 480 Ghz...
Abstract -- With the fMAX of current generation InP transistors pushing above 1-THz and new transistor scaling in progress, the operational frequency of solid-state amplifiers is being pushed towards THz frequencies. In this paper we present out latest work towards demonstrating THz frequency amplifiers, includ... 28 May 2010 21:27
Ping John Larkin: Question on MAX
Say John, If you don't mind my asking... With your homegrown inventory/parts management/MRP program MAX, have you effectively integrated it with PADS Logic (which I'm assuming you enter your schematics with, given that you use PADS PCB for layout) by, e.g., having an attribute for each symbol that keys to o... 2 Jun 2010 19:49
Mystery device
Hi, Pulled this out of the recycle bin as it "looked interesting" :> Fully populated PCB but no case to put it in context. No useful markings on the silkscreen. 10 LEDs arranged in a semicircle -- green followed by red (e.g., like a meter with a - and + zone). One power indicator. One push button (po... 29 May 2010 13:33

Sealed lead acid battery maintenance?
I would like to learn something about proper care of sealed lead acid (SLA) batteries. Is there any good authoritative science on how SLA batteries should be cared for? I am searching... I suppose battery makers/distributors would be one of the best sources of information about that? Specifically... I wonder wh... 9 Jun 2010 17:35

Tiller's "Intention Imprinting" Device?
Can anyone please tell me exactly what this circuit is, in electronic terms, and how it could possibly function as described in the linked report below? http://tillerfoundation.com/White%20Paper%20II.pdf Bill Tiller is a respected scientist, but I can't figure this one out.
