Vishay Mosfet group going under? I heard that Vishay is cancelling open orders for fets and shutting lines down. I suspect my intelligence sources though. Has anyone heard anything that might confirm this? regards, Bob ... 7 Jul 2010 14:35

Are there any 24VAC to 3.3VDC/1.5A SMPS? Gents, Does anyone know of a little AC/DC switch mode converter module that can take 24VAC and put out well regulated 3.3V at 1.5A or more? $25 in 1k qty would be nice, availability in the US would be even nicer. All I see is 24VAC to 12VDC and placing two in a row costs effiency. Sure, I could roll my own ... 5 Jun 2010 21:18
*gasp* Useful EDN article on tantalum caps Stupid title, but actual useful info on tantalum cap behaviour: http://www.edn.com/article/509092-What_a_cap_astrophe_.php Now that there's this existence proof, maybe there'll be a bit more...perhaps someone will write them another useful article, e.g. a compendium of all two-transistor circuits. Cheers ... 11 Jun 2010 18:09

Free heating for all ? Sounds like a good plan to me :) http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/06/03/microwave_blackness_dingus/ "Grabbig all those gsm/mobile energy signals out of the air and converting them into heat !" ;) Bye, Skybuck =D ... 4 Jun 2010 03:46
Wayyyyy OT: European measurements Hi, I have a (baking) recipe that I am trying to decipher. <sheepish grin> Originally in Italian so all the measurement units are European. Weights and liquid measures are easy to translate. *But*, some things tend to be "packaged" differently. Point in question, what's a "package of vanilla"? I'm gues... 13 Jun 2010 16:03
The central limit theorem rocks, (summing Zener noise) So the following is the result of a previous thread where John Larkin suggested that one way to get rid of the voltage asymmetry in a Zener noise source was to sum a whole bunch together. I was initially doubtful, but thought I should do the experiment. I had a whole bunch (five) of lockins to test today. They h... 6 Jun 2010 18:17
SN754410 vs. L293 Got handed a schematic a couple of days ago with the SN754410, which TI bills as "an improved version of the L293". One of the outstanding* features of the L293 is that it is dog slow. The SN754410, on the other hand, has delay times that indicate that it could be operated in the tens of kHz, with pulse times ... 5 Jun 2010 15:49 |
