What a nonsense. I have worked with old Norstads Newsreader ten years ago. This story ended in old Mac OS times. Brian made an excellent product for OS X out of Newsreader and never forgot to thank Norstad: "Many thanks also to John Norstad for his NewsWatcher program that showed how a Macintosh newsreader should look and behave." Today, Unison is the only (commercial) program that comes close to Thoth. I would like to see Thoth back in the market and I would pay for an upgrade.

E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my very hungry SPAM filter. Due to Google's refusal to prevent spammers from posting messages through their servers, I often ignore posts from Google Groups. Use a real news client if you want me to see your posts. JR

And HIS code came from Steve Falkenburg. I'd bet the effort to make this code work (and work well) in OS X takes it so far from Norstad's code (that wasn't his begin with) that the argument (if there even was one to begin with) has been rendered pointless. > It's boring by now. Otherwise I think I see a future full of Thunderbird as a Usenet reader... :( Unison is OK.. but it's doesn't touch Thoth or MT-Newswatcher for general Usenet use. -- .... something witty goes here ...

I had my run-in with Brian as have so many others. I refuse to use his product. OTOH, Unison2 sucks. I'm still using 1.8.1 until it dies. Then I'll resume using rn. -- Bream Rockmetteller Donaldson's Dog Joy 509-450-0301
