From: Vfal on 19 Feb 2010 16:56 My OS is Windows XP SP3 I did a bad thing and edited the Outbox.dbx and by edit I mean deleted everything in there. Now I cannot send mail. I get a "The message could not be sent. An error occured." I have renamed it old, so it can rebuild, I have tried to restore my Store folder from a saved version on a jump drive. Nothing seems to work. Anyone have any ideas? Do I have to reinstall Outlook Express? I would rather not if possible.
From: Bruce Hagen on 19 Feb 2010 17:05 Make sure OE is closed and then go to the message store and delete all Outbox files, old or new. When you open OE, a new Outbox will automatically be created. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP [Mail] Imperial Beach, CA "Vfal" <Vfal(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5B056EE6-9E0B-4164-B140-24475711BC10(a)microsoft.com... > My OS is Windows XP SP3 > I did a bad thing and edited the Outbox.dbx and by edit I mean deleted > everything in there. From: PA Bear [MS MVP] on 19 Feb 2010 20:01 You deleted the contents of Outbox folder or you deleted Outbox.dbx from your store folder? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Client - since 2002 Vfal wrote: > My OS is Windows XP SP3 > I did a bad thing and edited the Outbox.dbx and by edit I mean deleted > everything in there. From: Steve Cochran on 20 Feb 2010 08:22 If Bruce's suggestion doesn't work, then go to File | Identities and setup a new identity. Then when that works you can import from the old one. steve "Vfal" <Vfal(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5B056EE6-9E0B-4164-B140-24475711BC10(a)microsoft.com... > My OS is Windows XP SP3 > I did a bad thing and edited the Outbox.dbx and by edit I mean deleted > everything in there.
