I'm an old-school coder too (started in 1980 when I was 10!) and today's apps are just bloated to buggery.

The old Eraser still works, doesn't it? ___________^ Some people think "old" means "not as good as new". Depending on the circumstances (think socks, for instance), they may be right. The interplay between "old", "good", "new" and "bad" in the context of software is a lot more subtle than most people believe. -- cheers thomasl web: http://thomaslauer.com/start

I tried a newer version from 5.3, Build 5363 sometime ago and it just kept crashing so I went back to my 5.3 version and haven't had any problems since. XP Home SP3. XP Home SP3. I guess the old saying "if it ain't > broke, don't fix it" really applies in this case. It would be nice if there was a way to contact the authors and mention the installation problems, but unfortunately all I could find was this page: http://www.tolvanen.com/contact/ where Sami says, "Sometimes even I don't read my email, so probably nobody else is going to either." I just registered for their forum and posted a message that this discussion is going on here. Maybe they'll participate (I hope). -- John Corliss BS206.
