You are over-reacting. Just because the second most
powerful nation in the world was nearly one heartbeat from
monitoring Russian military activity from Wassilla
and promoting South Africa to a continent, you
can't seriously believe those meagre efforts
really affect the big stuff.

You see, in the real world, not your academic
make believe fairy land, we have checks and
balances, inspections, certifications and
even blowout-preventers and abstinence-programs.

So don't be such a worry-wart! ;-)

Of course, if you attend crappy lectures, use crappy books or believe
some crappy researchers, your result will be that of a crappy
knowledge about the subject.

Fine.... if you want a theocracy like Iran.

I've been in all sectors of the real world, including the military.

We have well paid lobbyists, campaign contributions, and very slimy PR
firms all set to tell one-sided stories to sway public opinion.

And, bribes, extortion, threats, ...and from all sources.

Yeah,... I see how well they are working in the Gulf.

And, you did--didn't you--read that poll where the abstinencers were
"doing it" anyway?

Ahhhhhhahahahahaha

But thanks for the "encouraging words"; I might be in a better mood if and
when we come out of the recession and the oil stops.

Einstein/Relativity? Just a minor distraction compared to that "big stuff"
you're mentioning above.

You then may want to check yourself the quality of the research of Van
Flandern in his page http://www.metaresearch.org/

http://www.metaresearch.org/solar%20system/solar.asp
http://www.metaresearch.org/solar%20system/cydonia/cydonia.asp

Tom was a member of this group for several years and he had good
discussions with Dr. Carlip and others on the speed of gravity
subject. He even managed to publish some of his ideas in a reputated
physics journal but.....

Thanks, but the way I have to look at this is to have that big table and
spread it all out in front of me. I'm not going to read _one_ book, only.

For all the dissing I got about my list, nobody seemed to be bothered by
one book, authored by Einstein, talking about his "dialog" with
objections. That might be a better place for me to start.
