You'd be less antisocial here if you *did* send email. After all, I'd
hardly be publishing my email address in every post I made if I had
major objections to receiving email in response to a Usenet post.

Traditional Netiquette demands that `in the forum' one should stick more
or less to the topic; and if off-topic stuff turns up, it `ought' to go
elsewhere. And personal matters should always be taken to email
(assuming a technical forum).

That's traditional netiquette. People seem not to care about being rude
these days.
