The speed of light governs not just light, but it governs all matter and energy in the universe. The speed of light reflects the speed at which our particular universe was thrown through the time dimension, thus all force communication within this universe is governed by this rate. If the universe were thrown through it faster or slower, the speed of light would also thus be faster or slower. Yousuf Khan
