It's not an easy task, backing up books. Say you had about 3000 books you wanted to back up - what method would you use? Assume no spare space for any more books in the house, nor any off-site storage available without paying for it. (the above is roughly my situation) > I lost loads in a fire once. Well Odie @ Retrodata ID's the specifics as being the Chinese rev7.01 Seagates 60-160GBs, had one or two go in the 9-5 some years ago. There's an extended warranty on them from Apple now [1], but I've replaced any I've seen since Odie highlighted the issues a few years ago, cheaper than any data loss down the line. Must confess that I don't let Chronosync run quite as often as I should [1] <http://www.apple.com/support/macbook/hd/repairextension/> -- Jon B Above email address IS valid. <http://www.bramley-computers.co.uk/> Apple Laptop Repairs.

So you say you'd bother backing up books, but you've no idea how the job might be done... Uhuh. So you're just being contrary for the sake of getting a rise out of me, yes? This is just another way for you to wind up the loony, yes? > > Assume no spare space for any more books in the house, nor any off-site > > storage available without paying for it. > > > > (the above is roughly my situation) > > > > > I lost loads in a fire once. I don't know, I expected them to go again. So your books were lost in a fire, and that meant you ended up considering books worthless? </DEEPLY/ puzzled> Still does not compute.
