From: Hugh Browton on 26 Jun 2010 05:59 Dear All Just had the second MacBook this week through Mac Doctor Towers needing a new internal HD. First one's data was entirely un recoverable (Head crash between the platters - ouch). Waiting to see about this morning's. Both Seagate 120 GB drives. (I've done perhaps 10 in the past year). If you have a MacBook, you ARE backing up your data regularly, aren't you? -- regards hugh hugh at clarity point uk point co (by the sea) (using Hogwasher) "The question of whether Machines Can Think... is about as relevant as the question of whether Submarines Can Swim." I have to say that this is about the quietest and fastest drive I have used to date. I also run two backups of my system partition, and quad backups of my photos partition. -- Andy Hewitt <http://web.me.com/andrewhewitt1/>

I like the Sammies too. It took me a while to take the plunge actually. I did have a Samsung TV and VCR some years ago, and both had the shortest working life I ever had from those devices. I've not bought Samsung since, until this drive. The last one I had was a WD Scorpio, which is now the backup clone of the System volume. Both of which I checked comments for on the interweb, and both got good reports all round. This did only apply to 2.5" units though, 3.5" drives seem to follow a different path, although Seagate seem to have really gone downhill over the last couple of years in both formats. -- Andy Hewitt <http://web.me.com/andrewhewitt1/>
