would anyone please help me? - optimal control, arbitrage
Ladies and Gentleman, I have got a question, which for most of you I guess is pretty trivial. So I would really appreciate it if you could help me out a little bit, as I am not the biggest math genius. There is a consumer maxmization problem \max_{c(t),k(t)} \int_{0}^{\infty} e^{-pt}u(c(t))dt s.t. c+\dot... 20 Jul 2010 06:59
Where to Plot [Int |sin3t *cost3t|dt ] / [ Int (sin^2(3t)) dt]
Does this look familiar? Wolfram Alpha won't plot it. An alternate form: [ (3 integral |(e^(-3 i t)-e^(3 i t)) (e^(-3 i t)+e^(3 i t))| dt) ] / (6 t-sin(6 t)) Bret Cahill ... 20 Jul 2010 13:34

Exponential: proof/explanation for Int[dx/x]=ln x
Hi, there is one thing that puzzles me in the derivation of exponential growth. Let's start with dx/dt = kx where t is time and the rate. Then dx/x= k dt and then Int[dx/x]=Int[k dt] ln x = kt + constant Can somebody explain or direct me to a source explain why Int[dx/x]=ln x ? Thanks and best, stefa... 20 Jul 2010 16:53
