From: Leon N on 14 Jan 2008 05:19 Yesterday evening I created a new user. When I used this user via the XP notebook I saw a profile was created according to the settings in SBS (\\dcname\profiles$\%username%). When I used the same user with the Vista machine, it was not able to use the current profile data, but it created a seperate one, called \\dcname\profiles$\%username%.v2 At the server I was not able to view the .v2 profile, because administrator was not owner of it. Although I changed the policy to allow Administrators to access these profiles... At the vista box, I see that the new user is mentioned under "Users", but no more with suffix "TEMP". So it really improves. The issue is now more focused on how it is possible to have two profiles!! And how to avoid! The next is to view the content of those profiles. From: Leon N on 16 Jan 2008 17:13 When I create a new user it works fine, although I have to solve the .v2 issue. But there is enough information on the net. For a number of existing users I still have an issue: even when I remove the profile data from the server and from the vista box, the vista box creates a temporary profile at logon time. How can I get rid of this issue ? "Leon N" wrote: > Yesterday evening I created a new user.
