From: Leon N on 4 Jan 2008 19:10 I use an SBS 2003 instance with 5 workstations. In some cases I do not get the profile data from the server to my workstation. Especially now, when I am installing a new workstation with Vista Business I experience this problem. Any ideas to solve this ? REgards
From: Claus on 4 Jan 2008 22:13 Can you explain this a bit more? Did you patch your SBS to prepare for Vista? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926505 -- Claus "Leon N" <LeonN(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:6B29B86E-89FF-4EB6-9643-C870837688D3(a)microsoft.com... >I use an SBS 2003 instance with 5 workstations. From: Leon N on 5 Jan 2008 05:22 Yes, I patched the SBS server with the actions mentioned in KB 926505 . Currently I have no problems signing in from desktops, but also my other notebook, which runs XP Pro has similar issues. I also use login scripts to assign netword devices at logon time. They also are not executed on the notebooks with XP and Vista. In the logging I find a Netlogon 5703 errror which indicates a path error. Hopefully this refers to the path for the profile or scripts. Does anyone know the search process of a Vista machine for the profile data ? "Claus" wrote: > Can you explain this a bit more? From: Claus on 5 Jan 2008 11:27 Please post the complete eventlog entry for the 5703 error so we can look at it. Has the logon script ever worked? Are you connecting wireless? What router are you using? -- Claus "Leon N" <LeonN(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:779A4CF5-7C9C-4CEE-B281-C21CCF9479E7(a)microsoft.com... > Yes, I patched the SBS server with the actions mentioned in KB 926505 . > Currently I have no problems signing in from desktops, but also my other > notebook, which runs XP Pro has similar issues. From: Leon N on 5 Jan 2008 16:47 Claus, Is it possible to mail you a screenshot of the 5703-error ? At the desktop-station next to me I use the same accounts, and some have also problems with the logon scripts. It runs XP Pro. My notebook is connected wireless as well as wired, there is no difference from my perspective. It is typical that the logon-procedure accepts my userid and password and "logs on", but for the rest it does not have effect. When I explore the network I can manually connect the network shares to my machine. I can also see the profile data on the server. I have the opinion it is a GPO or AD issue. Agree ? More info needed ? Thanks in advance "Claus" wrote: > Please post the complete eventlog entry for the 5703 error so we can look at > it. Has the logon script ever worked? Are you connecting wireless?
