I have this conversation every time i port out from a network, their CR dept
will call me telling me they can offer me a better deal until i point out
that they can't offer me the cashback they let their dealers offer.

If only networks would allow their CR depts to offer the same sort
of phone subsidy funded cashbacks, they wouldn't have to lie.

But if they did that they would undermine their own sim only contract deals,
which shows how over charged they are
(except perhaps 3 Zero)

I've asked the question. Well not quite - on the tarriff I want its
£100 for the handset. Its £100 that Vodafone would pay me through
Quidco for a new contract. I have suggested that they simply give me
the handset free to save the faff. if not, off I go with the PAC to
Tmobile and back again. I will then start a long series of threads on
various fora asking why companies like Vodafone want to give cash to
new customers (or even I-only-left-days-ago customers, but won't offer
the same deal to keep existing customers.

No! All I wanted was the same deal I could get as a new customer. And
they said no. Apparently cashback offered by Vodafone is nothing to do
with Vodafone Business and despite me not wanting cash - just the FOC
handset the cashback would buy as a new customer - they wouldn't
honour their own deal.

I've defected to T-Mobile.....
