From: Suzanne S. Barnhill on
I suspect that "better than nothing" is the best we're going to get, though
I'm hoping that the "new platform infrastructure" (.NET 4.0, I gather) will
perhaps improve response time. I can definitely tell a difference between
these NGs with native OE and the forums using the bridge; it's more
noticeable at night (when there seems to be more traffic) than early in the
morning.

From: Doug Robbins - Word MVP on
I don't know what newsreader you are using the access the forums, but with
Windows Live Mail, if you set the synchronization mode that you want (New
messages only) for the forums that you want to access and then use Sync
everything, the performance as you move from post to post is, as far as I
can tell, identical to that when moving from post to post in the NNTP
newsgroups.

From: Terry Farrell on
I concur with Doug. I'm using WLM as my client and the bridge cannot be
faulted for speed. First thing in the morning when they may be 80 or 100
overnight posts to sync, it takes barely two or three seconds to download
them all. Perhaps the bridge was 'tuned and tested' with WLM.

without any issue other than speed.

From: Doug Robbins - Word MVP on
But, as I said, the speed is not an issue here.
