Tell the guys/gals at FreeBSD they are in the top 10 of Linux.

Why post this ill informed drivel? Why not research it yourself and come up
with something useful?

A 1% part maybe ?
I have ubuntu installed, but am getting more and more inclined
to dump it and install debian squeeze.
Debian squeeze is Ubuntu 10.04 without the ad-ware.

Suddenly you're the expert in all things Linux.

The article is nonsense.

"This leads naturally to thoughts of a shake-out, to consolidation within
the space forcing some distros to just go away."

Linux has 1% of the desktop market. Where's the shakeout going to be
butthole? A much more likely scenario will be that most will increase
market share because of the higher profile, not squabble over the 1%.

Exactly, why will that happen? Distros target different applications. How
do most of these companies make money? I doubt much is made from tablet
PC's at present. They already have revenue streams, my guess is a huge
chunk from server support of various kinds. How will a distro based around
a tablet PC hurt these companies? Explain!
