From: JF Mezei on 27 Jan 2010 16:23 Anyone know when the actual presention will be on-line ? I went to the quicktime site and the last keynote is from sept 2009. Is this where one woudl expect today's presentation on the iapd to be made available ?
From: JF Mezei on 27 Jan 2010 16:36 BTW, if their 3G version will be crippled like that of the iphone (locked to a particular network), it will be useless to those who would use a tablet the most: travellers. So the next question becomes: can the ipad thether itself to a real phone to access the internet ? If so, you could buy the wi-fi version only and use an unlocked phone to access the internet at reasonable prices when you travel.

But it isn't a locked device so I would guess there could be hope for others. As to 3G and travelers, I usually drive to my destination, so 3G isn't important at all to me and wifi hotspots are showing up all over the place. I don't honestly see the problem. But then I only use a phone as a phone. |
