But it uses a "micro-SIM". Is that commonly available? I don't know a
lot about SIMs but replaceability only matters if replacements are
actually available.

Well the nano has been retired in favor of iPod touch which I got as a
holiday present just a few weeks ago. :-)

I write a fast 10-finger touch-type on my keyboards. On my iPhone I have
even got some problems with the two-finger system.

For use as an eBook device the iPad is just perfect, also when you have
to take notes. I don't believe it will be a MacBook-killer, and for sure
it can't replace an iPhone either. Though an iPad and an iPhone might
work well together - tethering :-).

And I do know that you have problems in the US with AT&T - we simply
don't have the same problems in other countries. In Denmark we can use
our iPhones on all four networks [and thus alternative companies who use
these networks], and three of the four network carriers even sell
iPhones.

No need for an iPod Touch when you have already got an iPhone:-).
