You're pissing into the wind, Floyd. Their feeble brains can't grasp the concept that 4K+ fps centerfire .22s are still just a twenty-two and that knowledgeable firearms fans know the difference between small-bore and hi-power. They will forever believe one must have a 30-06 to take anything larger than the Easter Bunny and real men shoot magnums. Nevermind that a subsonic .22LR is a superior survival caliber for oh so many reasons. They just are not going to get it. nb

People who shoot moose with 300 magnums ought to be flogged. We put folks in jail for wasteing as much meat in other ways... -- Floyd L. All of the None of these are referred to as a .22. You just identified them by the names they are known by. > others previously mentioned (.22-250, .223, etc) are *commonly* > referred to as ".22s". No, they're not. Those shells are known by the names that you just gave them. > In addition, rimfire 22's come in Short, Long, and Longrifle, so > even there claiming that ".22" refers only to the .22 Long Rifle > is wrong. All .22s cartridges are rimfires. By definition. You are not describing the bullet, you are describing the cartridge. Why don't you do us all a big favour and take a good old daisy bb gun out there on your next polar bear hunt. cordially, as always, rm |
