I think I'd be inclined to completely remove iTunes from that machine, then reinstall it. It feels to me like the iPod/iPhone helper app is maybe a bit confused. Your keyboard might be a bit poorly too. All of your recent posts have been missing letters in odd words, that don't look like typos. -- Pd

Yup - carelessness with my new aluminium Mac board - not used to the lack of travel but I'm getting to like the board when I rtemember to hit the keys harder! -- duncank

I'll ask when he has the laptop out again (they have gone to an Arboriculture show and drink up now so who knows when he will be able to!). ;-) However, in spite of the Touch working on that machine eventually I think you may have a point and that it may indeed be 64bit W7 (FWIW etc). The reason I think I remember something along those lines is that it downloaded the 64bit Ubuntu (the first I'd seen) but till now had forgotten all about it. All is working now and he's briefly played with the new apps that come with 3.1 (is it), over his previous V1. He's also synced his Google calendar on the Touch, something he can also do on the W7 on the laptop or Ubuntu on his desktop PC. From the quick check before they went out it didn't seem that he could modify the Google calendar when the Touch was offline? Is there a way, some App or another system that would allow him to do so and sync between W7 and Ubuntu does anyone know please? Cheers, T i m

I think there is a good chance he will bring it down on Thurdsay in which case I can get a closer look. Would I also be able to do it on my iTunes (XP / OSX) or is that sort of think linked to one computer. If he's paid for the upgrade, would it still be available via the net via 'another' machine or would he have to pay again do you know (or find the ipsw etc). I think he was given an iTunes voucher and used that to pay for the update (I don't think he had used the iTunes store prior to that). Cheers, T i m |
