As a recent Mac adopter, Im still with Unison, I paid for it and it
does mostly what I need it to do!

I like the Hog, but it appears that Asar has abandoned it. At least it seems
that Asar declines to reply to email about it, and there doesn't seem to be
any recent activity on the Hogwasher blog. I'd like to believe that there's a
Hogwasher 4.4 or even a 5 out there somewhere, but the evidence suggests that
4.3 is the last version there will ever be. And 4.3 has known bugs.

I don't really see any reason for activity in any discussion forum about the
Hog- general it works flawlessly. I am sure an update would be forthcoming if
it was necessary.

Let's just say that _I_ have attempted to post in the Hog forum about one
problem which I have had since version 2: the database can sometimes get
corrupted. When that happens, the mere presence of the corrupt post causes
the Hog to crash. If, for example, there's a corrupt post in this thread,
then when I access the thread to read posts the Hog will crash. Instantly. it
will do it every time. The only cure is to identify which thread the corrupt
post is in and delete the thread... including any unread posts. This problem
pops up only in threads in high-traffic groups, but it pops up fairly often
in those groups.

I tried to post something about this to the Hog discussion forum _six months
ago_. it's still not showing up. _Nothing_ posted there since about 2007 has
shown up. <http://www.asar.com/blog/?p=7>. The last post in the Hog blog is a
promise to bring SSL to the Hog... which was made in 2007. Since then,
nothing. I've sent a few emails to Asar and have received no answer
whatsoever.

I think that it's been abandoned.

Such arguments here tend to be purely silly, with no-one taking them
seriously.

Ditto. But: I found MacSoup to be an acquired taste. I didn't like it
for several weeks but now it'd be hard to persuade me to give it up.
