I knew I was going to buy it within 20mins of using it for the first time, _despite_ finding it rather confusing. There was just something about it that said "Jim, this is the one". For just text try MacSoup It's a disaster to learn, you really have to read the manual, and it takes time to get used to its quirks. Once learned it is an efficient tool to handle large volumes of postings. Don't use it's built in mailer though, Jan

There was just something > about it that said "Jim, this is the one". <shrug> I used MacSoup because there was no choice. When I first got on-line at home using a Mac, there was no off-line news reader for Macs. There was allegedly a way of doing it using one bit of software to download news and something else to do the newsreading - but the system didn't work when I followed the very scanty instructions to set it up - basically, it just plain didn't work although as usual Peter Ceresole will tell you that it was a super solution that never gave him any trouble and worked perfectly all the time without any setup issues at all (which is bullshit - it was a major pain to work out how to configure and I never got it to work at all despite trying very hard for weeks). Once MacSoup turned up, there was no sense in trying to set up the crappy stuff previously made available.
