Better to be safe then sorry, It doesnt hurt to make a test as i suggested
and know If It makes a difference instead of assumin and be possibly wrong.

Hi Henrik

Yes very sound advice.

Unfortunately I dont have another external drive to hand, however I did
create a share on a spare workstation and did a test backup of a few folders
which did complete succesfully.

So I guess I will have to wait for a response from Lacie (when they decide
to get back to me).

I'm guessing it's a permissions problem. The SBS backup runs as the System
account which may not have permissions on the NAS.
