I believe FWOHCI stands for Firewire host controller interface - in
other words the Firewire bus. It seems one of the Firewire devices
connected to your machine is not handling sleep events well. The first
thing I suggest you do is to use the process of elimination to determine
which device is at fault.

Nope. The first time I put my Intel Mac to sleep after the
10.5.6 update it froze. The grey translucent curtain of death
swept down from top to bottom of the screen then that cryptic
square message window appeared saying you must restart the
computer. I had to unplug it from the AC receptacle. After that
all seems well. I'll try Sleeping again later to see if it
persists. I sure wish Macs had a Reset button like PC's do.
Pulling the AC plug out seems a little archaic. Then again,
you'd think Routers and DSL/Cable modems would do the same too.

That was a 'kernel panic", generally, but not always a signal of a
hardware problem.

Regarding pulling the plug: did you press and hold the power button in
for several seconds?

That never works. Wish it did.

Never? How long have you pressed the power button? It can take a good 10
seconds.
