From: DougRndl on 30 Mar 2007 16:35 Oops, I think I made a mistake. :-) Somewhere during my testing, I had renamed the xtras folder on the server. Forget what I said about the player not being able to download the xtras on Vista... Sorry.
From: Erik **AdobeCommunityExpert** on 30 Mar 2007 17:15 For these timeouts, my first (recent) instinct is to blame Adobe's rather plodding servers. If it can't deliver the files on time, the request times-out. The easiest way to test if that's the problem is to setup a custom manifest so the 'stub' player looks in a custom location for the other supporting files. If you can locate the player and Xtras on, say, an intranet server where speeds are sure to be zippy and you do not get any timeouts, you could largely determine it's a speed/response issue as the cause. Someday I'll find the time to document all these silly errors and the hopeful workarounds. I can't keep them all straight myself... Does anyone suppose it might help if I edited the AAM and removed the file sizes? I seem to recall that in the deep, distant past, that used to cause a problem, if reported file size in the map didn't match the size when received on the server... although I don't recall a timeout error being the result...
