No, no -- don't drop it onto an already open document in OOo. It should
be an OOo window without a document open. Sorry, I should have been
clearer before. At least it works for me to open MSWord files, not
link them.

Gotcha, we work a bit different. You're opening OpenOffice. I was opening
swriter which defaults to open new doc.
