Anyone know a program that can connect to a dSLR or DVCam. Scanning page-by-page would take forever. Ideally, set up video camera... 1 Apr 2010 22:27
Coolant for dummy loads
I've been using engine oil as a coolant for dummy loads but am wondering whether something like peanut, sunflower or avocado oil would be better. Engine oil gives off an awful smell when it breaks down, smells like rotten eggs. Can't find transformer oil. Any thoughts? ... 10 Apr 2010 08:00

ARM sample code
I got one of those NXP LPCXpresso boards with a Cortex M3 ARM on it, installed the dev tools, and whadda ya know, the demo using the semihosting thing works OK, for printf("Hello, World!") at least. Sooo, now the problem is porting a bunch of fairly simple PIC code over to the ARM, for controlling RC servos et... 1 Apr 2010 23:34
Heat dissip. series vs. parallel
I need to fit 20 Ohms worth of power resistor as a dummy load in a confined space. In practice, is there any difference in terms of heat disspation between using two 10R in series or two 40R in parallel? Voltage is 12V giving about 7W dissipation. I would be using 25W rated resistors just to be sure. Thank you... 1 Apr 2010 21:21
Compound feedback topologies
I'm wondering how one calculates the gain and impedances of a multistage amplifier where, for example, one is both sampling the output voltage and mixing it in series with the input stage, and also the output current and mixing it in shunt. Does one calculate the voltage gain and voltage feedback ratio for the... 6 Apr 2010 23:10

Wireless Home Phones?
I have a _very_ old Vtech wireless phone system (2-lines) that is gradually dying off handset-by-handset (I've already tried different battery paks, and that's not the problem). Any recommendations for replacement? What about this Dect 6 stuff? Any good, or just hoopla?? ... 4 Apr 2010 08:15
