Ecore Air Gap Creation I have some ungapped Ecore material that I want to create an air gap in the center leg. How would you properly 'grind' the center leg without breaking it? I've heard about using a plastic shim but how does that work on the outer legs? Do I add a shim to the outer legs as well? As you can tell, I have much to ... 27 Mar 2010 09:36
Reverse or inverse ARP from windows/linux - no way (!?!?) I tried today to figure out a simple way to give users of our new netmca ( http://tgi-sci.com/tgi/nmcatb.htm ) to locate its IP address once it gets one via dhcp when there is no internet at the moment (when there is the device posts its IP to our domain and customers can see it using a browser). Turned out ther... 4 Apr 2010 12:37
Low frequency breadboarding of discrete RF transistors I'm looking at playing with some SiGe parts for a close-to-DC application (< 1MHz). These things have scary high fT like 30-80 GHz. Capacitance versus voltage for X7S caps? Tried the major mfgs and the typical datasheet looks like this: http://www.avx.com/docs/Catalogs/cx7s.pdf Quote "Capacitance for X7S varies under the influence of electrical operating conditions such as voltage and frequency." Then under diagrams ... nada, zip, zilch. Great. One paper listed X7S with the ... 2 Apr 2010 17:05
Automotive datalogger power(down) supply strategy Custom datalogger circuit using SD card, running on switched automotive power. It's cheerfully writing data to the card and the power quits (user turns key off, accidently pulls off power connector, engine stalls, car crashes, whatever - this could even be the preferred method for stopping it if it's robust). U... 25 Mar 2010 10:17
