Cleaning leaked electrolytic & corrosion on PCB
What is the best method for cleaning up leaked electrolyte? This PCB has some corrosion on IC leads and vias. Is there a corrosion neutralizer that would be effective? Since the potential for corrosion in places that aren't accessible (deep in the vias), a liquid that can neutralize corrosion is called for. ... 21 Apr 2010 01:11
UART Multiplexing
I need an IC to share a UART between two devices. The TX/RX voltage will range between 3.3V and 5V. The data rate is 115,200 bps. I've found a few IC's capable of handling this but they are all so expensive (ex: MAX399 @ $2.70 in qty 2500). Any other suggestions? --------------------------------------- ... 10 Apr 2010 20:07

BC337 hfe distribution
Just measured hfe from some BC337-40 at about 5 mA collector current. Unfortunately nothing very interesting there Results: Sample size: 960 pcs minimum hfe: 388 maximum hfe 513 (datasheet limits are 250 and 630) avarage: 452 avarage deviation: 27 median: 463 mode: 477 Distribution is a bit strange looking... 15 Apr 2010 12:31

Mosquito killer
Is there a chemical deadly to mosquitos that is lighter than air? I was thinking about making an device that could kill them. I guess it's probably no better than a bug zapper. The idea is that since they, supposedly, are attracted to CO2, to make a bucket with an inverted code with a hole at the bottom. The ... 9 Apr 2010 06:42
