Dpreview. Strapped for real news, or in sales pitch mode? An announcement about and upcoming firmware improvement? Time was, firmware announcements came out when the firmware was actually available for download. Now we're seeing pre-release firmware announcements? For what purpose? For sure, it's a sales technique, provided by Canon and eagerly implemented by Dpreview... 25 Jan 2010 12:48

Waterproof case for A570IS or Waterproof Camera I need to get a waterproof camera for my daughter that's going on a week-long canoe camping scout outing in the summer. I thought about getting the Canon WPDC12 for her A570IS ($175) but then I saw the Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP for $133 and the Olympus Stylus 550 WP for $104.95. She isn't going to be doing underwa... 22 Jan 2010 00:45
Olympus camera overexposes Olympus FE-20 - - - Are the pictures pale-looking even when you upload them to a computer? Has the camera previously produced acceptable pictures? Is the battery OK? Could be a fault in the exposure meter or in the 'firmware'. Wouldn't these faults be evident in the "viewfinder" mode (... 23 Jan 2010 16:34

Canon vs Nikon As a Nikon shooter, I've always thought Canon shooters are a bit dorky. This photograph, taken at the practice field for the East-West Shrine Game to be held in Orlando, seems to prove my point. http://tonycooper.smugmug.com/photos/769666832_Z2Svd-XL.jpg -- Tony Cooper - Orlando, Florida ... 2 Feb 2010 16:16

Samsung aims to dominate market (haven't we heard this before??) I agree mirror-less cameras are the future, they are simply cheaper to make, even though the micro 4/3rds cost more than they should at retail right now. But I don't see efforts like the Samsung NX10 dominating the DSLR market. They need something revolutionary, and micro 4/3rds already has that covered. What wi... 20 Jan 2010 00:45
Pack a Gun to Protect Valuables from Airline Theft or Loss? I am not qualified to comment on the practice advocated in this article.
