Maybe Panasonic made a mistake? If you look at Panasonic raw output on the G1 and GH1 (don't know about the GF1) you'll see it is very neutral. Colours are reserved and the output is more professional looking (akin to higher-end DSLR's) than cameras in the same price ballpark.
