Research has shown that this is BECAUSE "picture fusion frequency" is related to INTELLIGENCE whereas simple "flicker fusion" is NOT. This parallels simple "refex reaction speed" which is also NOT correlated with intelligence, while "decision speed" IS highly correlated to intelligence.
