Of course, the victim didn't get her coffee fresh from the pot in the kitchen, but was sold a substance supposedly ready to drink at some remove from the pot. Do you drink from styrofoam at home? As someone else remarked, something resembling porcelain reduces the temperature differently from styrofoam, so home consumption isn't directly comparable. As established by ample evidence at the trial, the serving temperature at MacDonald's was appreciably higher than the serving temperature at other such establishments, and that excessive temperature was already the source of numerous ignored complaints. MacDonald's had had fair warning, even if that temperature may have been to the taste of some like you. -- ++====+=====+=====+=====+=====+====+====+=====+=====+=====+=====+====++ ||Arnold VICTOR, New York City, i. e., <arvimideQ(a)Wearthlink.net> || ||Arnoldo VIKTORO, Nov-jorkurbo, t. e., <arvimideQ(a)Wearthlink.net> || ||Remove capital letters from e-mail address for correct address/ || || Forigu majusklajn literojn el e-poŝta adreso por ĝusta adreso || ++====+=====+=====+=====+=====+====+====+=====+=====+=====+=====+====++

After all, coffee is not *supposed* to be sold at a drinkable temperature. -- D.F. Manno | dfmanno(a)mail.com "I don't trust organized anything: teams, religions, corporations. In every medical or first aid class or book I've seen, part of the definition of "third degree burn" includes charred flesh. Coffee is mostly water, thus if not under pressure, CANNOT be higher than 100 degrees Celsius, and cannot char flesh. (However, second degree burns can be caused by coffee at sixty degrees Celsius, and if extensive, might require skin grafts.) -- Wes Groleau Pat's Polemics http://Ideas.Lang-Learn.us/barrett
