From: Barry Watzman on 20 Sep 2009 20:11 Bill, obviously it does vary by model. But he's right to the extent that, in general, there is NO access to the CMOS battery in laptops other than major (MAJOR) disassembly, at least down to the motherboard (e.g. split the case), and quite often remove the motherboard because it's on the bottom of the motherboard with no access panel. THAT is the "norm"; any provision for easy access is the exception. Nothwithstanding that we agree that not providing easy access is stupid. We are not talking about CMOS batteries, but SSD drives in netbooks. Some like mine are easy to swap out and some like Aribert are harder to swap out. He buys the hard ones and complains and I buy the easy ones and couldn't be happier. <vbg> > BillW50 wrote: >> In news:540db55omrds2ng7ejllp6iss7sna01i2s(a)4ax.com, >> Happy Oyster typed on Sun, 20 Sep 2009 21:24:16 +0200: >>> On Sun, 20 Sep 2009 14:14:47 -0500, "BillW50" <BillW50(a)aol.kom> >>> wrote: >>>> Oh give me a break!
