You forgot to give the url to the shoutcast site: http://www.shoutcast.com/ Choose medium speed sites if you have any problems, best chances are with sites between 30-96 bitrate. 128 if you have a good connection. I also support the advice about Screamer, it is very good but has some less important bugs as it is somewhere between the beta phase and a mature program.. So there are two good alternatives, Screamer and Winamp + shoutcast stations. Url to Screamer: http://www.screamer-radio.com/ -- Roger J.

Perhaps -- have you tried it? It seems to work fine. I like the fact that it includes a number of real-world stations in the pre-sets, and that you can add your own. Shoutcast and WinAmp seem to concentrate really heavily on Internet-only stations. (It's an entirely personal preference, of course, but I'm distinctly cool on listening to Internet-only radio that lives in some sort of non-time/cyber-time. It's too divorced from place of origin for my taste; I like having them do their time-checks and weather forecasts and stuff.) -- Cheers, Harvey

It seems to work fine. I have used both versions. 039 had a problem with the display of the VUmeter on my computer, win2000pro sp4, so I went back to 038. But now I have reconsidered, that VUmeter is not important and version039 has several improvements, so I will use that. > I like the fact that it includes a number of real-world stations in > the pre-sets, and that you can add your own. But many of the preset stations do not work, you have try out which are working and which are not. The real world stations have a high failure frequency. If you want to add your owns stations you need to learn how to edit the preset list, reading the Screamer forum is a good help. The developer of Screamer is a bit slow to update the program and the preset stations, otherwise it is a very good program. -- Roger J.

I've noticed that, but I tend to use it for the same bunch of favourites so it doesn't really impact on me. > The real world stations > have a high failure frequency. (I added a couple of NZ stations -- the NZBC has a pretty good classical station.) > reading the Screamer forum is a good help. Tom - I use http://www.StreamFinder.com. It is a browser based directory of streaming sites and I can save my favorite stations to pull up in the future. My favorites are some of the Swiss Groove stations and some funny rock stations with live DJ's - funny banter like the early days of FM radio. You can't save the streams themselves but I don;t think they want 'rippers' grabbing their audio... anyway - enjoy the streams!
