I was talking to my wife about this and she said a few weeks ago, when running off batteries, it would do the same thing when the battery got below 90%. That happened a couple of times and then she stopped using it on battery. Tried it again today and that still happens. Tell you anything new? Tell > you anything new? > Also what to do with power manager? sudden shutdown on batteries is usually a failing battery, but that shouldn't happen when plugged in. take it to an apple store and let them tell you what's wrong with it. the diagnosis is free and if you're lucky, it's an easy fix (also likely to be free).

If it happened only while running on battery, it'd likely be a bad battery. Since it happens while plugged into power mains, it's likely an issue with the SMC (System Management Controller (aka "power manager"). > Also what to do with power manager? Yes, though it's less likely, IMO. My first suspect is a misbehaving power manager. -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me.
