Ternary formula for a decimal expression Let k be a positive integer. Is there a close form formula for the ternary expansion of the decimal number 2+2^2+2^3+....+2^k ? Seems to me that such formulae are impossible. ... 1 May 2010 08:43

Gravity Is Singularity Of Quantum-Continuum.By Aiya-Oba Gravity is equator of the Quantum and Continuum units of Space. -Aiya- Oba (Philosopher) Thus, 1/9x10^-16(Gmc^2) = G Where G(6.672x10^-11), is Newton's gravitational constant, and mc^2(9x10^16), is Einstein"s unit of mass-energy equation. Such that, (1/9x10^-16) x (6.672x10^-11 x 9x10^16 ) = 6.67... 7 May 2010 14:31
Formal calculus for anything? Hi, I wondered if a formal language exists where nobody ever had thought of a problem you can't describe in it. When I see something coming from the keyboard of a mathematician, I often see a notation with inverted Es and As - I gained some google- half-education about that, but I don't see how to formulate e.... 30 Apr 2010 14:00
perfect ideal What is an example of perfect ideal, i.e. an ideal I in R s.t. depth_I(R)=pd(R/I) (pd=projective dimension), that is not generated by a regular sequence? Also, how can I show an ideal generated by a regular sequence is perfect? Thanks ... 30 Apr 2010 10:36
polynomial question Let f(x) be a monic irreducible polynomial with rational coefficients and with a root r. If g(r) is also a root of the given equation in Q[r] (different from r), why is g(g(r)) also a root? Kent Holing, NORWAY ... 1 May 2010 13:11
when can we extend 2-forms in submanifold to 2-form on manifold.? And, more in general: if/when we have an m-manifold M, and an n-submanifold N, n<M , and we have an n-form w_n(N) defined on N, when can we extend w_n(N) into an n-form w_n(M) on M.?. I suspect this has to see with partitions of unity and bump functions somehow, but I am stuck at the moment. Any suggestion... 30 Apr 2010 02:56
