You have a bent perception of reality. The French are those that
ran off and left us with their mess, little boy.

And no, we did not need white flags upon exit. The hundreds of
thousands of refugees and boat people did, however, as they were still
being shot at from shore by the geneva convention defiant Kmer Rouge
and NVA and Viet Cong military factions.

Since they are private companies, it most certainly does.
