While there will be no further versions of Free Agent, Free Agent 3x is still available and perfectly useable for the foreseeable future.

The "official" reason I was given that there was no free 4.0 was as a result of the fact that none of the changes in 4.0 were affecting the free version anyway, so there was little need to QA a free release. -- If men can run the world, why can't they stop wearing neckties? We're sorry, but version 3.3 of Agent is the last version to have a freeware mode. If you do not register Agent 4 by the end of the 30 day trialware period, it will no longer perform any online action. You will, of course, be able to access the program itself and any data stored in it, and you will be able to register it at any time to re-enable online functionality. Fort? has offered Free Agent for more than 10 years.
