Firefox is just more powerful and configurable with all the plugins and restoration of tabs when re-starting. It's also handy when swtiching back and forth when I have to run WinXP (yeah - I know there's Safari for Windows). I did dump Thunderbird for Mac Mail. I miss a few features, but it works well and integrates much better with OS/X. Also, TB development has been really slow the last couple of years and generally moving in directions I don't care about.

I have had a Macbook for 2 days and have installed Unison and FF. When I click on a link in Unison FF doesn't maximise from the dock but the webpage is there when I maximise it manually. Is there a setting to make FF automatically get focus? -- Ray UK

I use all of those, though at the moment mostly Safari, Chrome (for testing) and Firefox in that order. One way I've avoided lock-in into any browser is by using 1Password for my password management system which has a plug-in for all of those except Opera. Someone mentioned lynx. I've moved from lynx to elinks. -j -- Jeffrey Goldberg http://goldmark.org/jeff/ I rarely read HTML or poorly quoting posts Reply-To address is valid |
