I don't want to participate in some sort of argument, but where is it
written that "Linux has a goal" of desktop domination? It will never
achieve it, and I am a Linux user.

Where Linux will achieve a majority of market share is in handheld
devices.

Linux since Red Hat rhl-4.2 now running Mandriva.

Have used both Solaris and BSD.

Win 2K, Win XP, Win 7 inside virtual machines using VirtualBox for
support reasons. I haven't run any version of Windows on "bare metal" for
a very long time.

Well, Solaris and HP-UX and AIX are still in my "desktop" environment,
but so is Linux, and several variants.
