Texts also allow the other party to answer at their leisure, rather
than the NOW! demand that a phone call urges, even to those
strong-willed enough to not answer. I find that invaluable, since I'm
such a polite chap.

Actually, the Singularity seems rather useful in the entire work avoidance
field. "I _could_ write up that report now but if I put it off, I may well
become a weakly godlike entity, at which point not only will I be able to
type faster but my comments will be more on-target." - James Nicoll

It's interesting, carrying on with my gender-differences theme, that men
I know seem happy to answer texts asynchronously when convenient, and
use it to send information, but many women I know expect an immediate
response to texts, even when they're not asking for anything nor giving
any useful information.

I'm on O2 half a block away from where she is and haven't ever had
problems with coverage. I also have a mi-fi- on 3 and that's been a
whole different story...

I've been tossing up between 35 and 45 quid. 45 quid feels such a bloody
lot though. And there will always be extras slipping through on top.

Initially I took the 45 quid option and eventually went down to the 35
one -and still am only using a small fraction of my text and talk time
allowance -even though I do text a lot. They only let you downgrade the
tariff after 9 months.
