I think if it had been a zx81 with a strapped on battery it probably
wouldn't have just worked well!

ZX81s were used in a lot of battery powered stuff, surely? They only needed,
what, 9v or thereabouts? They got used a lot for smallscale robotic stuff.

Not so useful for carrying round and typing on though.

Good point. The 14" TV would need a crateload of car batteries and would
definitely reduce the portability somewhat.
