Clearing up music tags
Can anyone recommend a decent app for cleaning up music tags? I'm mainly interested in album art and the year of release, and I'm talking about supplementing tags that are alredy there and known to be correct. I've heard good things about Pollux but discovered it seems very much geared towards people with collect... 12 Apr 2010 04:51
Guy Kewney has died
He died today, from cancer of the bowel and liver. He was one of the few people who knew that microcomputers were going to make a difference to people's everyday lives. As far as the public were concerned he was an important midwife to the new technology, because he helped bring it out into the wider world. Da... 9 Apr 2010 05:38
Email problems on an old 10.2 iBook
My mother's email is not working, which is worse than my email not working since I can fix mine! Connection is just fine (browsing works) and I can send email but can't get anything to go the other way. ISP is talktalk and I've followed their instructions (http:// www.talktalk.co.uk/help/email/how-do-i-setup-my-tal... 9 Apr 2010 16:46
Power Manager problems with 10.6.3?
After installing 10.6.3 on my MacMini, I found that EyeTV was missing recordings when the mini was powered off. EyeTV seems to be creating the correct power mgr schedules, or at least pmset -g sched prints what appears to be valid scheduled events, but the mini doesn't power up at the scheduled time. If I l... 8 Apr 2010 11:04

Padding an image in Aperture
I have some square images in Aperture. If I try to print them at Snapfish, they will be cropped to 3x2, which I don't want. So, I need to add enough white border to make them 3x2 to avoid this. Is there an Aperture plugin that will do this for me? Daniele ... 7 Apr 2010 12:23
Upgrading Mac mini CPU
Anyone had any experience upgrading a Mac mini CPU? I'm after boosting my Core Solo 1.5GHz to a Core Duo with a bit more oomph. I've looked at the guides and the early minis have a ZIF, and besides the usual pig to get anywhere in a mini (I've already upgraded the RAM) it doesn't seem to arduous. And the brief lo... 14 Apr 2010 18:57

Mouses
I've been using Logitech three button scroll mice on two machines, for many years. They have tails (Ugh! NASTY wireless! NASTY batteries!) and they're lovely, with geat Logitech software that lets me assign a double click to the right button (ARE YOU LISTENING APPLE, DAMN YOU! I QUITE FANCIED A MAGIC MOUSE...) iPhone/iPad OS 4 to gain printing support?
<http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/10/04/06/apple_ipad_iphone_os_4_ma y_gain_direct_printing_support.html> If true I'll be very interested to see how they do this. I still think that drivers are going to be a potentially huge problem, and I still think that printing via a Windows/Mac client app might be the wa... 8 Apr 2010 15:12
