I'm looking to write a video file to DVD so it can play in a DVD player. Can anyone suggest what software I might use for the job? Rowland. -- Remove the animal for email address: rowland.mcdonnell(a)dog.physics.org Sorry - the spam got to me http://www.mag-uk.org ... 6 Apr 2010 17:36
Yahoo POP mail failed
Any Yahoo mail POP users out there, is it working? I actually never use this account, it's just there for Freecycle, and even that is sent to my Google account. I just keep the Yahoo one running in case someone does pick it up and send a message to it. The last few days it's not been online at all. I can still ... 6 Apr 2010 16:28
Are new MacBooks likely soon?
Is it in May that apple release new hardware? My wife is looking for a new laptop and it's either the Air or MacBook, but there is no problem hanging on for a month or so if it is likely to get a better spec/price, is it on the books or likely? -- Peter ... 7 Apr 2010 04:36
Hmmm, interesting...
It's getting difficult to get hold of some iPhone models. There don't seem to be any 32GB black 3GS models available, white ones are in stock, white 16GB ones are sold out. It's not long until May and the rumour mill stated that May would see a 4G iPhone release. Is this Apple running down stock ahead of May? ... 6 Apr 2010 13:03

I've bought an Epson GT 10000+ A3 scanner on ebay which uses a scsi connection. I can use this on an old pc that I have somewhere but would love to cut out the middleman and scan straight to my macbook. I have seen that there are various usb to scsi adapters on ebay (eg Microtech DB25 USB to SCSI cable converter) a... 16 Apr 2010 13:59
Snow Leopard-style wake on lan - it's jut not working
Mac Mini, which has been working for a while like this, has suddenly decided that when it goes to sleep it's not coming back again just for network access. This is a pain, because it's primary use in life is as a network and media server - there's no keyboard and I often use it via screen sharing too. Anyth... 3 Apr 2010 10:25
Recovered items after a reboot...
I'm a little puzzled by what I see in my trash after almost every restart. I nearly always see the 'Recovered items' folder, and it's nearly always got loads of media files from iWeb in it [1]. Something up in iWeb I've been thinking, although I've not had any problems with it, as far as I can see, most of my web... 9 Apr 2010 10:01
BT Newsgroups again
A friend who is a net novice, is trying to set up Unison. In the preferences/server he has put < news.btinternet.com > as the Usenet server, but he doesn't know what UserName or Password to put in under Edit Servers. The only name and password he can remember setting up was the one for BT email, this did not wo... 4 Apr 2010 08:15

iTunes 9.x views question
In previous versions of iTunes, when looking at grid views of album covers you could resize them with the slider bar below the search box in ether Music or smart playlist view. But since iTunes 9.x you can only do this in the main music list, but if I view a smart playlist say "Pink Floyd & Solo" and view the ... 3 Apr 2010 06:05
