Seagate 2TB drive - Win NT formatted Huh? I have just bought a Seagate 2TB "Expansion Drive". On the iMac it says it is Windows NT format, and says it is 'Read Only'!! Huh? What? Why should I buy a drive that I cannot write to? It has two files on it, both /exe files, which dont seem to run on the iMac. I assume Windows NT format is in-... 25 Mar 2010 06:52
Replaced iMac HD - now fans constantly on 20" iMac Just replaced the HD and now the fans are running full on all the time. I opened it up again to have a look at the heat sensors and they both (the one on the HD and the one on the optical drive) were barely attached so I refixed them with double-sided tape to the holder, not to the sensor itself.... 27 Mar 2010 09:39
Firefox 3.6.2 and Flickr not happy? I've just looked at Flickr for the first time since getting Firefox 3.6 - now up to v3.6.2. Here, using Firefox, not one `Show all sizes' link on Flickr works. `Nothing happens' is what I get when I click on any of 'em. I've tried turning off all my Firefox extensions - no change in behaviour. Flickr work... 27 Mar 2010 09:39

MiFi & Macbook Pro Problem I know some of you are happily using a Mifi, but I'm having problems with the one I got a week ago. It is one of the Novatel 2352 models, on a Vodafone contract. It worked pretty much out of the box with both our iPhones and with the 2006 Intel iMac, connecting straight away. However, despite trying everyt... 28 Mar 2010 16:47
Backup Drive recommendations Does anyone have any recommendations for an external backup drive? I'd like something fairly cheap, quiet in operation. I think my plan would be to use SuperDuper! rather than Time Machine, but that's based on prejudice rather than any real knowledge. The aim would be to have an overnight bootable backup created ... 29 Mar 2010 14:45
The growth of WiFi Once upon a time I thought I was pretty smart having a set of LocalTalk cables running around my house. Then came wired ethernet, and now a combo of wires and wireless. Sitting at home here (in a West London suburb) iStumbler can see thirteen other active networks beside mine, all clamouring for airspace - and a... 27 Mar 2010 09:39
