No idea about your borrowed Luton but I gather that satnavs - even
dedicated ones - have trouble with some windscrweens - depends what is
built into them, including radio aerials and heater elements.

Yep they don't like heated front screens alledgedly but no such luxury
on the luton. I've had the iPhone 3G fitted to a Mondeo front screen
with a heated element and it was fine.

I wouldn't get away with that much fiddling, Han doesn't have the
patience...

No lost signal?

Sounds very much like my phone is slightly wonky. I'll have to test next
time Han drives, with my phone and hers doing Google Maps.

I hope if I get an iPhone 4, I get one without wonky GPS.

Yes, there was a really long tunnel in Texas. Other than that, didn't
lose it once.
Even driving through Dallas which has a lot of overpasses and tall
buildings.

Trouble is you can't tell until you have one.

It didn't keep signal in a tunnel? Pffft. Lame.

Okay, sounds very much like my iPhone is a slight lemon in that respect.

Repeatedly taking it back is a pain, but might seem worthwhile. Have to
see.
